Hands-on Experience with a COBOL Servlet

The TechDemo Servlet

Now it's time to get some hands-on experience with a COBOL servlet. Veryant has prepared a simple demo servlet written entirely in COBOL. Here are the steps to download, deploy, test and view the source code for Veryant's TechDemo Servlet:

1.	Follow the instructions to Configure Tomcat to use the isCOBOL Runtime Framework above

2.	Click on the following link to download cobServlet.zip :

3.	Extract the contents of cobServlet.zip to a new directory

4.	Follow the instructions in README.HTM

5.	The source code for this servlet is in WEB-INF/source in the cobServlet.war file. After deploying this servlet, it will be on the disk in

$CATALINA_HOME/webapps/cobServlet/WEB-INF/source.

NOTE - A graphical utility such as 7-zip (from www.7-zip.org) can be used to create, edit, extract and view the contents of a war file.
